Sara Phelps is a professional cellist based in Lynchburg Virginia who is passionate about sharing the gift of music through performing and teaching. Sara is an encouraging and positive teacher who tailors each lesson individually to the students’ needs and goals. She enjoys supporting the student’s musical journey whether they want to learn for fun, play on a worship team, play in a youth orchestra, or pursue music more seriously. Sara takes an ergonomic approach to the instrument to help students find a way that is comfortable, natural, and healthy for them to play.
Sara is also an active freelancer that plays substitute cello for the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra, Danville Symphony Orchestra, Roanoque Baroque Orchestra, and is a cellist for the True North Presents company. She has performed across the U.S.A., Poland, and Austria in orchestral, chamber and solo concerts. She further studied cello with David Feldman for her bachelor’s degree in cello performance at Liberty University.
